Read MoreAerospace instruments must be able to withstand extreme conditions, such as the impact of a satellite launch or large temperature differences. At the same time, they must meet extremely high (precision) requirements. For example, optical systems must be able to compensate for atmospheric disturbances caused by temperature variations and turbulence. In sensitive measuring instruments, thermal noise determines the quality of the measurement. We develop innovative solutions for these challenges and translate these solutions into optomechatronics systems and thermal control. This way we contribute to sharp, high-contrast images and reliable, broadband communications.
